Principles of Negotiation

We all negotiate all the time, whether at work or at home. This course is designed to help you understand what negotiation is all about, what strategies you can employ to make yourself a better negotiator and how you can deal with tactics and strategies used by others.

The course concentrates on pre-action negotiations and will provide you with the opportunity to practice negotiation and to receive feedback. The case studies demonstrate the different approaches required for situations where there is likely to be an ongoing relationship and for situation where there is not.

  • The different approached to negotiation e.g. positional v principled
  • The strategies and tactics open to a negotiator
  • Preparing and planning a negotiation
  • Improving your effectiveness as a negotiator.
